John Paul George Ringo is a set of playlists that weave the solo recordings of John, Paul, George and Ringo together into thematically-cohesive "alternate history albums."
These six compilations span the years 1970–1975 when all four musicians were recording regularly under their existing record contract with EMI — and prior to Lennon's extended hiatus from recording. The compilations aim to include all the commercial hits and other highlights from each of the musicians' recordings from this period. These playlists are loosely conceived to be yearly-released albums that follow an arc in which the band explores transcendent concepts, provocatively agitate for social issues, openly reveal discord within their relationships until healing musically by focusing on love, and then getting back to good old-fashioned rock & roll before making a final contented farewell statement.
The intent of these playlists is to explore how much juxtaposed solo recordings by the former band members can approximate the experience of listening to a Beatles album. Admittedly, due to the variation of musicians and production between the post-Beatle solo albums — to say nothing of the notion that The Beatles were more than a sum of their constituent parts — such a project is destined to to fall short of its ultimate goal. But an argument can also be made that as great as several post-Beatle solo recordings were, they all lack a multi-dimensionality that came from the contributions of the sensibilities of each musicians former bandmates.
Since its an overstatement to pretend that these playlists could actually be Beatle albums, referring to these compilations by John, Paul, George and Ringo seems perfectly fitting.

Did I pick the wrong songs? The wrong sequence? The wrong themes? Is the whole concept completely sacrilegious? Or do I need to hear how totally inappropriate it is to include that one song with that ugly slur by Lennon? (I don't entirely disagree, actually)
